Position Summary:
A group of Companies is seeking a Manager Finance & Taxation to supervise and manage its individual businesses financial operations including but not limited to budgeting, payroll, accounting, treasury, payments, taxation, reporting and compliance both at individual businesses level as well as at group level.
Responsibilities:
- To review, streamline and improve accounting systems for each individual business as per best corporate practices.
- Responsible for managing and establishing internal controls for the entire group of companies.
- Develop and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures (Finance Manual) as per best practices.
- Responsible for ensuring a robust accounting system for each business unit of the group of companies.
- Upgrade and improve existing accounting software towards implementation and commissioning of ERP based accounting system and have knowledge of managing ERP.
- To maintain books of accounts and record keeping for each individual business and at group level through a team of individuals, in compliance with the regulatory/accounting framework.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures for all transactions including tax implications (Income Tax/Sales Tax).
- Ensure taxes are withheld and deposited in Government Treasury as per prevailing Tax Laws.
- Liaison with the tax authorities to ensure periodic (monthly/quarterly and annual) withholding tax statements/sales tax returns and annual tax returns of the companies and the directors are prepared and submitted in a timely manner.
- Oversee payroll disbursement and incorporation of the same into the system on monthly basis.
- Oversee monthly/quarterly and periodic financial closing and preparing and presentation of various kind of financial and accounting reports for the senior management and Board of Directors.
- Supervision of the team in preparing budget vs actual spending reports on monthly basis along with variance analysis separate as well as consolidated.
- Supervision and the capacity building of the existing staff and inclusion of required professionals in the team through merit-based hiring as and when required.
- Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements;
- Maintain banking relationships.
- Ensure all banks are reconciled on monthly basis and maintain bank reconciliation statements.
- Maintains reporting of Fixed Assets in system (Depreciation, reconciliation).
- Keep abreast of new accounting regulations;
- Liaison with the internal and external auditors of the organization;
- Develop a budget in line with the approved business plan for each individual business and the group.
- Responsible for designing and managing budgetary control function at each unit of business.
- Develop financial KPIs to be monitored as a part of management reporting for business control and decision making;
- Prepare budget variance analysis at regular intervals.
- Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends.
- Liaison with departmental managers on financial issues impacting departmental and company budgets;
- Assist CEO/Directors in carrying out appraisals of investment proposals.
- Manage contractual arrangements and ensure timely payments to the business partners and vendors;
- Experience of dealing with import and export.
Skills:
- Excellent Analytical and report writing skills required;
- Good command over IAS/IFRS
- Proficiency in MS. Office;
- Working knowledge of finance and accounting soft wares;
- Advanced level understanding of Finance and Accounting concepts.
- Self-driven individual with the ability to handle assignments with minimal supervision;
- Decision-making skills, analytical skills and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to interface and manage vendors;
